Artist Pravinchandra Goroba Sarawade |  Watercolour & Oil Colour Artist | Latur, Maharashtra

Based in Latur, Maharashtra, Pravinchandra Goroba Sarawade has been drawn to painting and drawing since childhood. What began as an early interest in creating images and experimenting with colours gradually became an integral part of his life. Through years of practice, observation, and dedication, he has continued to develop his artistic sensibility and personal approach to painting.

While studying in the 7th standard, Sarawade participated in a Maharashtra State-Level Children’s Drawing Competition, representing Osmanabad District, and secured third place. He later successfully completed the Elementary and Intermediate Drawing Examinations, earning a B Grade in the Intermediate examination.

Although he dreamed of studying at the prestigious Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, his professional journey eventually led him towards engineering. He completed his Electrical Engineering education at a Polytechnic College and later obtained a Diploma in Civil Engineering. During his professional career, he also worked in the Vocational Department.

Despite his professional responsibilities, Sarawade never lost his connection with art. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he found more time to devote himself to painting. He began painting more regularly and subsequently participated in several art exhibitions, receiving certificates and medals in recognition of his work.

Sarawade particularly enjoys working with Watercolour and Oil Colour. Through these mediums, he explores atmosphere, nature, human emotions, and the varied expressions of life. He is especially inspired by the works of the renowned Russian painter Ilya Repin, whose sensitive observation of human life and powerful expression continue to influence his artistic thinking.

For Sarawade, art is more than a means of creating paintings—it is a universal language of emotions and ideas. He believes that art can bring people together even when they speak different languages. Where words may fall short, art creates its own dialogue and connects directly with the heart.

Participating in the KALA SAMVAD 4th One-Day Group Art Exhibition, held on 21 August 2026 at Taj Art Gallery, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, was a special and memorable milestone in his artistic journey. The prestigious exhibition gave him an opportunity to present his work alongside fellow artists and to interact with distinguished personalities from the fields of art, culture, administration, and public life.

With a continued commitment to painting, Sarawade remains on a journey of learning, experimentation, and artistic growth. Through his work, he seeks to express emotions, experiences, and the beauty of life, while sharing his artistic vision with an ever-wider audience.
