Ramesh Karmarkar got introduced to photography around 1970. Over the last 50 years Ramesh has captured moments across all the facets of life across countries and has not looked back since then. Due to his mastery over this subject Ramesh continued to upskill himself through self-learning – be it videography or the current mirror-less camera version or candid photography. Ramesh’s visualization, balance, patience and technical knowledge about the way light travels won him many awards and recognition.
The year 2024 has been special for RK as his years of dedication and hard-work culminated into his dream coming true with his first-ever photographic exhibition in August 2024 at Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Worli, Mumbai.

• 1985 : First Prize from Camera Club of India for the photo ‘Bullock Cart Race’
• 1985 : First Prize in Maharashtra State Photography Competition
• 1986 : First Prize from Camera Club of India for the photo ‘Pangara Flower’
• 1986 : Gold Medal in the photography competition held by Bangalore Club
• 1987 : Certificate of Merit for 2 photographs from Government of India in the photography competition ‘Badhte Kadam’
