Shilpa Surana is a Contemporary Indian Sculptor Artist based from Mumbai, known for creating spiritually inspired artworks that merge traditional philosophy with contemporary aesthetics. Her practice is deeply influenced by Jain heritage, meditation, and the emotional power of silence, resulting in works that evoke introspection, balance, and serenity.
Working across sculpture, mixed media, and textured painting, Shilpa uses materials such as fiberglass, terracotta, metal, and acrylic textures to create refined and meditative forms. Her visual language is minimal yet expressive, often drawing from sacred symbolism, temple architecture, and ancient iconography. Through smooth surfaces, earthy palettes, and symbolic compositions, she reinterprets traditional spiritual narratives within a modern artistic context.
Central to her work is the idea of art as a contemplative experience. Her sculptures and paintings explore themes of inner stillness, timeless wisdom, and emotional connection. Inspired by Jain philosophy and cultural memory, her work aims to create spaces of reflection and quiet dialogue rather than purely decorative objects.
Her artworks have been exhibited at prominent platforms including the OYIBO Art Exhibition at Vishakha Museum, India Art Festival, HAAT, Kala Connect, Bharat Ki Kala, and Mumbai Art Expo, along with Art Family – Art & Spirituality at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Her work has also been showcased internationally at a Dubai art exhibition and at Kala Samvad hosted at the Taj Art Gallery, Mumbai.
Through her evolving practice, Shilpa Surana continues to bridge heritage and modern expression, creating artworks that invite viewers to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with a deeper sense of self and culture.
