As a recent graduate in MFA at Sir J. J School of Art, Mumbai, I'm eager to bring my fresh perspective and enthusiasm for teaching to inspire students in their artistic journey. With a focus on fostering creativity and inclusivity, I aim to create engaging learning experiences that empower students to explore their artistic potential.
As a female artist, my work is deeply rooted in exploring the intricate tapestry of womanhood. Through my art, I delve into the roots of female identity our connections to ancestry, nature, and each other. My practice celebrates the beauty and resilience inherent in the feminine experience while addressing the quiet struggles and transformative growth that shape us. Using various mediums, I strive to capture the duality of strength and vulnerability that defines women. The interconnectedness of my subjects reflects the shared journeys of self-discovery, healing, and empowerment that transcend time and borders. It is a celebration of the strength and grace that lie within the female spirit, a tribute to the beauty of struggle, and a reminder of the transformative power of growth. Through organic forms, layered textures, and symbolic imagery, I delve into themes of female growth, resilience, and empowerment. The process of creation mirrors the journey of self-discovery layer by layer, embracing imperfections, and finding strength in vulnerability. My work often intertwines elements of nature, such as roots, flowers, and cycles, as metaphors for the ways women grow, bloom, and regenerate despite adversity.
My work is inspired by the women of the town the unsung heroines whose lives form the backbone of the community. These women, with their quiet resilience and unyielding strength, stand as pillars of connection, tradition, and growth. They embody the beauty of perseverance, the struggles that shape them, and the collective spirit that weaves their stories into the fabric of our shared history. Through my art, I seek to honor these women, capturing the essence of their roles as nurturers, caretakers, and changemakers. Their roots run deep into the soil of this town, connecting generations and binding the past, present, and future. I draw inspiration from the daily lives of these women their hands working the land, weaving fabric, raising children, or building homes. These acts, though often uncelebrated, are the threads that hold the town together.
At the heart of my work is the profound influence of my mother, who stands as my greatest inspiration and the embodiment of everything I aim to honor in my art. She is my ideal her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit are the foundation of my creative journey. Through her, I have come to understand the beauty of roots, the power of connection, and the transformative nature of struggle and growth. My mother’s life reflects the essence of the women in our town, whose quiet yet powerful presence shapes the community. Her hands, worn from work, and her heart, steadfast in love, have taught me the value of perseverance and the grace in navigating life’s challenges. She is the root from which my identity and creativity grow, and her story informs every brushstroke, texture, and image in my work. Through my art, I explore the themes of female identity and the bonds that connect women across generations. My mother’s sacrifices and her ability to find beauty in hardship inspire me to create pieces that honor not just her journey but the collective experiences of women who share similar paths. I depict the strength it takes to nurture others while growing oneself, drawing parallels between the cycles of nature and the feminine spirit. The imagery in my work often features roots, symbolizing the grounding influence of a mother’s love, as well as branches and blossoms, representing the growth and transformation she inspires. My mother’s resilience reminds me that beauty is often born from struggle, and it is this truth that I strive to capture in my art.
Ultimately, my work is a tribute to my mother and the women like her who stand as pillars of strength in their families and communities. It is a celebration of their connections, their sacrifices, and their growth. By sharing these stories through my art, I hope to honor her legacy and inspire others to reflect on the women who have shaped their lives. My mother’s spirit lives in every piece I create a reminder that from deep roots, incredible beauty can flourish.
At its core, my art is a celebration of the quiet strength, unspoken bonds, and enduring spirit of women. It is an invitation for viewers to reflect on their own connections whether to their roots, their personal growth, or the collective experiences of women everywhere. I aim to create spaces where the beauty of struggle is not only acknowledged but celebrated as a vital part of transformation and renewal.
